Job Description:

Swoon works directly with a leading, global Medical Equipment Manufacturing company, who is looking to hire a Sr. Controls Engineer.

Location: Onsite in Batesville, IN (relocation assistance provided to those not local!)

Salary: $90 - 120K annual base + 5% annual bonus

Primary Purpose:

Provide engineering support to manufacturing areas (Fabrication and Welding) on weekdays and weekends as needed. Offer technical guidance to engineering staff, technicians, and maintenance supervisors, focusing on process optimization, automation, capacity analysis, and validation using lean manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Write, execute, and report on validation activities.
  • Conduct engineering studies on new equipment to establish accurate settings and control points.
  • Manage NCR/CAPA investigations and change control activities related to equipment.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment and process troubleshooting.
  • Design, install, and start-up new equipment and systems as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects for both new and existing product lines.
  • Develop and oversee capital budgets for projects.
  • Design and implement control systems for automation projects.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Expertise in machine design, AutoCAD, and PLC programming.
  • 5+ years of experience with Allen-Bradley, Rockwell PLCs, and servo control systems.
  • Ability to read and write electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on mechanical skills, AutoCAD, and Solid Edge drafting experience are a plus.
