ADP is hiring a Sr. Counsel, Real EstateADP is seeking an experienced real estate attorney to lead complex commercial transactions and other legal matters for ADP's real estate portfolio, which consists of approximately 9 million square feet (3 million owned and 6 million leased). The successful candidate will have a strong business orientation and be responsible for collaborating with multiple stakeholders within ADP's Corporate Real Estate group.Responsibilities:Utilize balanced lawyering to efficiently and effectively draft, negotiate and execute leases and renewals with limited supervision. Be able to independently lead a transaction to buy and sell land as needed.Various work to maintain ADP's real estate portfolio, including estoppels, SNDAs, broker agreements, reviewing title commitments, surveys, environmental reports and due diligence materials, as well as dealing with defaults and facility concerns.Provide M&A support for transactions with real estate concerns.Work effectively with various stakeholders, including design, project management and facilities to ensure projects are done on time.Interface with all levels of ADP personnel to advise on contract-related matters and ensure contract terms are consistent with ADP's business practices, policies and goals.Develop and conduct periodic training on contract terms, ADP's positions and the contracting process for sales, business and legal colleagues.Contribute to, and maintain, ADP's culture of innovation and growth while effectively managing risk.Perform special assignments and projects as directed.Qualifications:Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school required.Member in good standing of the New Jersey bar or able to obtain in-house qualification.8+ years of relevant legal real estate experience.3+ years at a top law firm and in-house experience preferred with emphasis on negotiation of leases and analysis and management of contractual risk.Superior knowledge of leasing and real estate transactions.Strong legal analytical ability and business judgment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.Ability to interface effectively with associates at all levels of ADP management, external lawyers and business associates of clients, partners and vendors.Ability to be assertive while maintaining a diplomatic and professional demeanor.Ability to manage transactions to completion and anticipate issues that may arise.Experience providing Merger & Acquisition support.Experience with environmental/sustainability transactions and/or green certifications.Based in Roseland, New Jersey with hybrid work environment per ADP's policy (3 days in office /2 days remote).Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Equal Employment Opportunity at ADP: ADP is committed to an inclusive, diverse and equitable workplace, and is further committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of any protected characteristic including: race, color, genetic information, creed, national origin, religion, sex, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lawful alien status, ancestry, age, marital status, protected veteran status or disability.
