Position: Data Analyst
Duration: 6-month contract with potential extension up to 18 months
Location: Charlotte, NC - Prefer local candidates (onsite presence may be required).
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in the communications industry to join our team supporting. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in data analytics, with expertise in interpreting complex datasets, creating insightful visualizations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, interpret, and visualize large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to the communications industry.
- Design and develop data models and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization platforms.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, define requirements, and deliver actionable insights.
- Support data-driven decision-making by developing predictive and prescriptive analytics models.
- Cleanse, organize, and maintain data integrity to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports.
- Document analytics processes and methodologies, ensuring they align with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of data analytics experience, preferably in the communications or telecommunications industry.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and querying large datasets.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R for advanced data analysis.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods and techniques.
- Ability to interpret and present complex data to diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Proven experience in working with CRM, billing, or customer service data is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience working with data from cable, internet, or other communications services.
- Understanding of telecommunications KPIs, such as churn rates, ARPU (Average Revenue Per User), or network performance metrics.
- Experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus.
