Sr. Data Analyst Work Location: Remote Job summary: Consultants are seasoned, subject matter experts who apply specialized knowledge, typically as individual contributors, in primarily assisting senior and executive management in matters that require special interpretation or expertise. This role will closely collaborate with Sales team and serve as a data/subject matter expert and apply specialized knowledge to design and solution complex data analysis projects, identify data trends, provide actionable insights and make recommendations for continuous improvement across Medicare Sales. Job Description:
- Research, analyze, validate, and prepare data for use in business performance monitoring and reporting, strategy support, and special projects.
- Design complex analysis projects and file layouts, dashboards; identify required data for projects
- Participate on or lead larger, more complex divisional/cross-functional projects. Plan, organize, monitor and control projects to ensure the effective use of resources and adherence to project management standards and reporting requirements.
- Recommend new ways of performing work tasks or projects; applies research and/or additional benchmarking data to generate solutions; manages creative thinking within the team.
- Preparation of final version of reports and dashboard exhibits.
- Represent the interests of the analytics group at decision-making meetings; balances analytics' perspective with those of other areas to ensure that the company's goals are achieved.
- Propose new analyses, when appropriate, to deepen and broaden the unit's capabilities; make recommendations that comply with laws and regulations, and support division and company goals, including the development of standards to ensure quality in non-routine situations.
Data Analysts are accountable for assessment, improvement and governance of quality and ongoing condition of critical data assets. Ensure adequate data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes. Data Analysts are assigned to projects of medium complexity and size and are relied upon to validate accurate population of cubes, stars and marts.
- Prepares data for conversion through data mapping, translation rules, and cleaning.
- Performs tests to ensure smooth data transition between systems.
- Executes data extraction programs/data profiling and analyzes data for accuracy and quality.
- Maps data and data relationships, validates population of cubes, stars and marts and accountable for most efficient data flows.
- Gathers and analyzes data requirements and validates complex data models ensuring ability to enable requirements
- Partnering with the business, resolves data issues and discrepancies
- Executes queries
- Completes data mining and prepares ad hoc reporting or presentations as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- 5-8+ or more years of professional experience with data analysis, database design or data mining or equivalent combination of transferrable experience and education.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of Information Technology fields and computer systems
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and collaborate as part of a team
- Ability to manage tasks independently without close supervision and take ownership of responsibilities
- Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
- Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills
