POSITION SUMMARY
Through our Community Impact Grants, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) delivers vital funding and support to over 200 local organizations that are doing outstanding work in the areas of education, income, and health. Our open, competitive application process identifies those organizations that will have the greatest impact in helping us reach our Aspired United 2030 Community Goals. We are committed to seeking out and supporting community-based organizations who have not previously received United Way support, with a focus on building a strong pipeline of organizations that are most proximate to the areas of greatest need.
The Senior Director, Community Impact Investment and Engagement requires a high level of knowledge, experience, and commitment to stewarding effective grant making resulting in measurable progress toward UWMD's Aspire United 2030 goals in education, income, and health and a strong track record of enthusiastically seeking out, and building and maintaining deep relationships with a vast array of community-based organizations ranging from small grassroots providers to large scale organizations. Additionally, the position requires strong people skills and experience working collaboratively with volunteers and nonprofit professionals.
This role is responsible for UWMD's Community Impact Grant (CIG) funding systems and processes, implementation, evaluation, and training, support, and capacity building for Community Impact Grantees and applicants and recruits, trains, and supports Community Impact Grants volunteers and supports UWMD Community Impact grants portfolio managers.
To perform the job successfully, competitive applicants should demonstrate the following competencies:
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT OF COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANTS OPERATIONS 65%
CAPACITY BUILDING/COMMUNITY IMPACT PARTNER ENGAGEMENT 35%
Bachelors degree in urban planning/public administration, Education, Social Work, or related field. Graduate degree or commensurate experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE:A minimum of 10 years of non-profit experience required, including community engagement and partnership development and volunteer management. Experience in United Way Community Impact management and implementation, grants management, grant systems, and project management strongly preferred.
