About this role:

Gartner is investing in technology to support a holistic view of clients and prospects across account teams. This will enable us to better serve our customers and deliver actionable insights to address their mission critical priorities. To achieve this, we are looking for a leader to drive the implementation of technology centered around Salesforce to better achieve our Customer 360 goal.

What you will do in this role:

  • Define and implement a strategy and roadmap for technology in support of all Gartner business units to drive a 360 degree view of Gartner clients and prospects

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand business priorities and direction and ensure those priorities are met with appropriate technology solutions, including Salesforce, Managed/Unmanaged packages, and competing solutions outside of Salesforce. Rapid prototyping of solutions is required in this role.

  • Keep up to date with technology trends in Salesforce and related technologies.

  • Ensure that the architecture and design of technology solutions are flexible, scalable, and compliant with both internal and external best practices. Work with a diverse set of technology teams to validate that the defined architecture & design is being implemented.

  • Communicate and present solutions to business and IT stakeholders and prepare those solutions for execution by different Scrum teams.

  • Collaborate closely with other Gartner IT centers of expertise to leverage best practices and shared capabilities such as our Chief Data Office and Cloud COE.

  • Act as a strong model within the organization for what good looks like from a leadership perspective.

What skills you need for the role:

  • Strong technology skills in one or more Salesforce product sets (preferably Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud) in support of a large B2B oriented business (preferably a subscription oriented business).

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide other team members on design, build, and deploy of various Salesforce technologies not limited to Lightning Web Components, Apex Programming, Apex Web Service, Platform Events, Security Model and others.

  • Good understanding of custom web application development using Java, ReactJS and various AWS technologies.

  • Prior experience in connecting Salesforce to disparate external systems for transactional or analytics purposes. Prior experience with Managed and Unmanaged packages, and external solutions connecting to Salesforce is a must.

  • Strong understanding of sales processes, service delivery processes, and financial processes

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in leading technology delivery teams in support of complex business functions

  • Demonstrated ability to both define a technology strategy, work with business & technology stakeholders to sell the strategy, and implement an iterative approach to achieve desired outcomes

  • Strong leadership skills in the areas of communication / collaboration, organizational design, talent acquisition & development, and stakeholder management

  • Experience in building & leading Agile/Scrum development teams located in multiple geographies (including India)

  • Experience in successfully working in an IT environment where some technology delivery is performed through centers of expertise, requiring a high degree of collaboration

  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent degree required

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 140,000 USD - 214,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
