Job Title: SR. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER Duration: 6 month possible contract to hire Location: Jamacia, NY (Hybrid) 2 days in office/3 days remote Electrical Engineer will provide Infrastructure Engineering Support to include, but not limited to the following: • Design low voltage power distribution systems. • Prepare single line diagrams and wiring diagrams under the supervision of an experienced engineer. • Coordinate design with other disciplines (i.e., civil, architectural, mechanical, structural, etc.) • Adhere to Clients policy for accurate project documentation for project files. • Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable. • Prepare standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. • Prepare detailed requisitions for low voltage equipment and materials. • Size conduit, conductors and overcurrent protection devices per the National Electric Code (NEC). • Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses. • Prepare and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. • Perform field surveys and collect required data as per project needs. Required Skills: • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college. (Third party evaluation of ABET equivalency may be accepted.) • 8+ years of electrical design related experience in low voltage power distribution systems, data center design, power quality analysis, lighting systems, grounding, lightning protection, and Uninterruptible Power Sources (UPS). • Must be able to pass a government background check. • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC). • Proficiency in AutoCAD. • Ability to work well under pressure and within budgeted hours and schedule. • Green card or US citizenship required. Preferred Skills: • Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies is preferred. • Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications is preferred. • Familiar with construction practices and safe work procedures. • Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization to find mutually beneficial solutions. • Previous experience with lightning and grounding protection. • Proficiency in Bluebeam. • Proficiency in SKM and the ability to perform short circuit, coordination and arc flash analyses.
