Overview
This position provides technical leadership in an area of electrical power distribution and infrastructure, automation, or advanced process controls. They drive innovation that improves operational excellence with focus on energy efficiency, product quality, and operational effectiveness. They mentor and supervise electrical process control engineers.
Requirements
* BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with commensurate experience is required.
* Advanced degree in Engineering is preferred.
* 10 plus years of experience in electrical process controls engineering in mining or similar heavy industry with pyro processes.
* Experience with capital project management and implementation.
* Experience with large scale planning, scheduling, design reviews, and standards development.
* Ability to manage work based on current business priorities.
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
* Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization
* Good presentation skills.
* Advanced proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs and AVEVA/Wonderware HMIs.
* Proficiency with OT networking primarily Cisco/Allen-Bradley based systems.
* Proficiency with electrical design and computer drafting.
Essential Functions
* Technology Leader
* Lead adoption and standardization of technology in an area of electrical power distribution and infrastructure, automation, or advanced process controls
* Analyze emerging technologies and incorporate into current process system designs to drive operational excellence.
* Work with cross-functional teams to bring new processes or modify processes to commercial production success.
* Sponsor and support new process control strategies
* Possess the ability to work with stakeholders to develop best practices for the company
* Provide and apply industry standards and intellectual knowledge of processes to drive improvements
* New Process Development, Product Commercialization, and Quality Focus
* Interact with R&D and process technology groups to drive forward development of new products and technologies.
* Mentorship, Leadership, Training, and Development
* Prioritize and delegate essential projects for business development and process optimization strategies for Process Controls and Power System Infrastructure
* Develop, maintain, and sustain a training program for MLC Process Controls Engineers
* Lead and Develop Standardization and compliance with NFPA, FM Global, ISA and other governing bodies
* Provide coaching and developmental skillsets program for Electrical Process Controls Engineers and track progression
* Inspire, mentor and advocate for Process Controls Engineers to reach their full potential to advance future company leadership roles
* Develop and sustain effective communication and presentation skills for Electrical Process Controls Engineers for all levels in the organization
* Provide industry best practices for Project Management and Self Development to create career building skillsets for Process Controls Engineers
* Develop strategic training methods for engagement of operations and production workforce to acclimate to process design improvements and modifications
* Incorporate leadership skills to drive operational integrity and performance
* Technology, Innovation and Capital Projects Leadership
* Develop capital prioritization of infrastructure and controls Capex projects and delegate project execution to Process Controls Engineers
* Work with stakeholders to prioritize electrical process controls projects
* Budget and cash flow analysis based on company strategy
