Provide value engineering solutions during development, proposal, pre-construction, and construction phases, including the following daily duties:1.Coordinate with civil and structural engineering firms to obtain detailed civil and structural design packages from third party vendors/firms that meet all contractual and permitting requirements;2.Develop single-line and three-line diagrams with required electrical details for solar photovoltaics (PV) systems in accordance with NEC, IEEE, NESC, utility interconnection tariffs and requirements, and local AHJ as necessary;3.Coordinate and develop electrical studies such as short circuit, cable ampacity studies, reactive power, lightning assessment, and many more using ETAP or similar software;4.Lead the project interconnection approval process as the primary point of contact with the interconnecting utilities from the application process through final design approval;5.Coordinate and obtain SCADA designs for solar PV systems from third party monitoring companies;6.Develop technical specifications and scopes of work for engineering firms and contractors;7.Support vendor and subcontractor solicitation on assigned projects;8.Coordinate electrical integration and interconnection of energy storage systems;9.Support the project contracting process by reviewing the technical, testing, commissioning requirements and providing risk matrix for various technical categories; and10.Mentor and train team members on project design, interconnection, and energy modeling.Requires a Master's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field or foreign equivalent, followed by 4 years of experience as a PV Engineer, Electrical Engineer or in any occupation where electrical engineering experience in PV and BESS was gained, within the solar and energy industry. Experience must include:1.4 years of experience with SAM, AutoCAD and PVSYST within the solar and energy industry;2.3 years of experience with electrical interconnection design and coordination (LV & MV);3.2 years of experience with medium voltage design and coordination;4.2 years of experience running desktop analytics to optimize the project basis of design;5.1 year of experience with DAS/SCADA design and coordination;6.1 year of experience with ETAP and/or SKM power system analysis software to run electrical studies of projects; and7.1 year of experience providing technical support to the execution team, including reviewing submittals, RFIs, running meetings and conducting inter-discipline coordination, supporting procurement team in purchase of equipment, coordinating with project team to address owner and utility requirements, and working with Quality, Safety and Scheduling teams to ensure project engineering dependencies are tracked correctly.Role permits full-time telecommuting.
