Boasting a diverse team of over 1,500 engineering experts hailing from various nations and cultures across the globe, we are excellently poised to provide intricate and personalized resolutions to our esteemed clients.Duties& Responsibilities:This position will work with experienced electric powertrain technical leads to understand customer, business, and regulation requirements and have accountability for developing ePowertrain solutions for construction and mining equipment to meet emissions reduction goals.Develop electrified powertrain conceptsIdentify design/development leverage opportunitiesOptimize systems through simulationConduct trade-off analysis using key metrics (performance, TCO, R&D investment).Complete detailed system design activities, in concert with component design ownersSupport development builds and validationTroubleshoot electric powertrain systems to resolve electrical and mechanical component and system challenges Education & Experience:BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering10 years of relevant product (machine, system, or component) development experience8 years experience with an MS or PhD in Engineering Required Skills:Ability to interrogate existing system schematics and develop new electrical system layoutsCreation of detailed electrical schematics, leveraging industry and Caterpillar developed standardsAbility to apply principles of electrical theory to electric powertrain designExperience with design and simulation tools/softwareExperience in performance analysis and simulation at machine or system levelElectric drive systems design, modeling and/or simulation (using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, etc.)Testing of electrical components, systems, machinesElectric or mechanical drivetrain systems (design or simulation)Motor / generator systems (design or simulation)Power electronics / power conversion systems and controls (design or simulation)Power distribution design, including selection of protective componentsHydraulic system design or simulationMachine or systems controls development / validation The Benefits of Working at ARiAt ARi, our commitment to our employees goes beyond the workplace, ensuring comprehensive benefits.
