Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and repair fabrication, machining, material handling and assembly equipment.
- Maintain and repair the facility.
- Install and maintain 480, 220 and 110 branch electrical service.
- Pipe fitting (gas, water and air).
- Works from specifications, wiring and schematic diagrams, drawings and instructions.
- Plans, lays out and performs diverse, intricate wiring on a wide variety of custom and standard products and component parts, such as switchboards, control panels, motors, transformers, circuit breakers, power supplies, electric chassis and special complicated, built up equipment for general emergency and warning systems, where operating integrity and stability are critical.
- Determines polarity to ensure effective operation, cut and bend conduit, run and fit wires and form bus bars and cables in a limited space.
- Installs conduit and fittings and connects switches, control panels, motors and electronic circuits according to specifications.
- Checks for defective parts, traces circuits, conducts functional tests, check contacts and security of terminals and connections and diagnoses and corrects problems to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Uses hand tools and electrical test meters and instruments.
- Follows safety rules and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Must be willing to do emergency callout.
- Train Electrical Maintenance Craftsman new hires on building layout and processes/procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- An Associate Degree or Certificate in Industrial Electrician required
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in an industrial facility
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience of hydraulic and pneumatic systems repair
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience working on equipment up to 480 Volts
- Must be able to read, understand, and troubleshoot using electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping schematics.
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift, Genie lift, scissor lift and perform work in a high lift platform as required.
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Must be able to run conduit, wire and terminate devices, perform quality control testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
