Starboard Industries is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business that specializes in a unique range of services that can extend anywhere around the world from the front gate, to the data in the cloud. Starboard Industries offers technology services which include barrier systems, complete surveillance systems, migrating/syncing existing ECM systems, enabling centralized access points, controlling content repositories, as well ask government and private industry supply needs. Starboard Industries is seeking qualified Sr. Electronic Security Technician for the Maryland, Washington DC, and West Virginia Region in support of a five-year low-voltage systems maintenance and support contract. The Sr. Electronic Security Technician should a strong technical background and skilled in the most current installation, testing, termination, and maintenance procedures for electronic security systems devices, access control devices, Intrusion Detection, Perimeter Fencing, Automated Gate, and CCTV systems at commercial and/or government facilities. The Sr. Electronic Security Technician must possess leadership and supervisory skills and the ability to manage labor, material, and perform administrative functions such as timesheets and reporting.Job Responsibilities: The responsibilities of a Sr. Electronic Security Technician include, but are not limited to: Maintains an awareness and understanding of the most current installation, testing, and termination procedures for various components of electronic security systems, access control devices, and CCTV systems within the client's sites under the contract Installs, tests, maintains, and upgrades electronic security systems, access control devices, and CCTV systems, to include equipment, cabling, and infrastructure Familiar with applications of various types of materials and tools needed to complete tasks, must be able to provide look ahead coordination for non-stock items Recognizes and provides immediate solutions for onsite changes in system integrations in the construction of buildings from start to closure, provide recommendations for system improvements Read building, electrical, and other blueprints Read and understand schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures to include manufacturers manuals Works with other Technicians to run wire and install peripheral devices in accordance with instructions of devices Interacts with customers and vendors in a positive, timely, and professional manner Develop and maintain red-lined as-built annotations to project drawings Provide first level quality assurance and supervision Supervise and lead teams to complete project requirements. Report directly to the Program ManagerRequired Qualifications: Pass a background check with showing no criminal background and/or be able to get a government issued clearance. U.S. citizenship Pass a drug screening test Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license. A clean driving record is required, and candidate must provide a DMV record At least five years of experience in the electronic security systems industry with a working knowledge of, but not limited to, the following: access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience and/or certification products such as Milestone, Genetec, Axis Communications, Avigilon and other commercial grade coax and IP based CCTV cameras and head-end software solutions Proficient in proper installation of structured cable systems devices including conduit, cable trays, racks, patch panels, cable management systems, outlets, jacks, and cable support systems Working knowledge of fiber optic and copper cable terms and concepts, including FDDI, Ethernet, installation codes, practices and procedures, including EIA/TIA standards, NEC (National Electric Code), BICSI and OSHA standards Basic electrical knowledge to understand verbal and written instruction Familiar/able to use hand and power tools to accomplish assigned tasks Able to work independently or part of a team Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and customer service skills Very strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work with crews and independently with little or no supervision are required Experience in prioritizing and coordinating labor, material, subcontractors, rental and testing equipment while working the challenge of meeting deadlines and project milestone dates Ability to work on premise and OSP environments (work from ladders, lifts, manholes, confined spaces and bucket trucks up to 30' may be required) Must be able to work overtime, weekends, after hours, and travel as needed. Must be able to work 24/7 service calls as required.Additional Qualifications: Certifications in Lenel, Avigilon, AMAG, Hirsch, Kantech, Axis, American Dynamics, or any other commercial-leading security products Experience with In-Access Control products, DMP, Aviligon, Hirsch, Kantech, AMAG and Lenel Networking experience and training BICSI and/or Networking training Knowledge of Microsoft Office softwarePlease provide a list of relevant certifications to the position for review for this position. Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing duties of the job, Senior Electronic Security Technicians will frequently be required to stand; walk; sit; bend; stoop; kneel; climb; pull; push; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The Lead Electronic Security Technician will also frequently be required to lift up to 75 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment usually moderate, but can become heavy or high depending on the equipment being used at the particular work site.
