Job Description:
Job DescriptionThe Senior Piping Engineer will play a critical role in the engineering design, analysis, and development of complex piping systems for onshore oil & gas, chemical, LNG, and renewable energy projects. This position requires a strong understanding of piping engineering principles and a proven track record of delivering high-quality deliverables, including piping specifications, specialty items, required pipe stress analyses, required calculations, and valve selection activities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing piping material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews. Additionally, they will contribute to various project stages, including conceptual studies, FEEDs, estimates, detail design, and construction support. As an Area Lead or Project Lead, this position involves overseeing assigned projects and undertaking complex engineering tasks. The role requires the application of advanced engineering techniques to a wide range of challenging assignments.ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for completing project specific objectives on time
  • Responsible for design and specification of piping systems, utility and equipment ties-ins, pipe supports for heavy industrial facilities
  • Consulted on design, specification, selection, and services relating to, pipe standards, manual valves, and inline piping equipment
  • Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports
  • Provide direct support to staff engineers in planning, design, analysis, manufacturing, and assembly in a hands-on capacity
  • Conduct and participate in design reviews and various engineering related meetings
  • Develop, execute, and document test procedures and results
  • Perform dimensional data review for piping components specified in Zachry piping material class
  • Develop 3D models for rapid prototyping
  • Develop and maintain piping commodity codes
  • Complete project documentation as required by the engineering quality management process
  • Ensure that completed project scope is safe to operate, functional, maintainable, and that all applicable codes have been followed
  • Perform dimensional data review for piping components specified in Zachry piping material class
  • Develop 3D models for rapid prototyping
  • Develop and maintain piping commodity codes

  • Supervises and directs the activities of other personnel working on one or more projects
  • Foster a culture of professional growth by mentoring colleagues, developing training resources, facilitating training sessions, and participating in performance reviews and counseling.

QualificationsREQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor Degree in a mechanical, industrial, chemical or petroleum engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience petrochemical, refining, construction projects
  • 10+ years of experience with pipe stress analysis, CAESAR II, NozzlePro, manual valve list, stress list, line list, specialty items list, requisition development
  • Pipe stress analysis experience with hot and Cold (Cryo) lines, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Values ethics, professionalism, and maintains confidentiality
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in working with and mentoring designers/engineering team members
  • Experience in developing scopes of work, task analysis, material list and project schedules
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, transparent, teamwork-based culture
  • Demonstrate a practical approach to resolving piping component problems and a solid understanding of 3D modeling requirements
  • Ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments and coordinate a variety of tasks, with good attention to detail and ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Understanding, acceptance and adherence of company policies and procedures, including all business objectives and goals
  • Experience in communicating job packages/projects with construction and plant personnel
  • Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Licensed Professional Engineer and membership in technical society
  • Industrial Experience
  • Experience in mid-stream industry
  • Familiar with Engineering and Computer Software: Aveva E3D, SP3D, SP3D review, Auto Pipe Plus, Caesar II etc. Candidates must be conversant with Indian and American Standards, 3D design Concept
PHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.WORK ENVIRONMENTEmployee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking.
