Key Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a science-related field is required. An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) is strongly desired.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and compliance standards.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills and familiarity with EHS-related software and tools.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in hazard identification, accident/incident investigations, and the development and delivery of EHS training programs.
  • Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Leadership: A self-starter with a hands-on, proactive approach and a strong focus on team building and collaboration.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to manage projects, troubleshoot EHS challenges, and implement solutions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of environmental management programs and relevant compliance software is an advantage.
  • Language Proficiency: A minimum intermediate level of English (B1+) proficiency, as per the CEFR.
Responsibilities: As the Senior Manager, EH&S, you will:
  • EHS Leadership & Strategy: Advise corporate and site leadership on EHS issues, offering expertise on facility planning, design, and strategic direction. Develop and communicate the EHS vision and a multi-year strategic plan, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Training & Communication: Oversee the development and delivery of EHS training and educational initiatives across the organization, ensuring all employees are informed and compliant with EHS standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Set and track annual EHS goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). Implement and maintain EHS management systems and processes across all departments.
  • Collaboration & Process Improvement: Work with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for EHS performance on projects, audits, and day-to-day operations.
  • Compliance & Audits: Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Lead safety and environmental audits and track action items through to completion.
  • Accident Prevention & Investigation: Lead the investigation of accidents and incidents, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Environmental Management: Oversee environmental compliance, including conducting air, water, and waste testing, analyzing data, and addressing pollution sources.
  • Safety Programs: Evaluate and recommend safety measures for job tasks, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Safety Committee Management: Lead internal Safety Committee meetings, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization.
