Strivector s premier client (a well-known market leader in their space) is hiring for the following full-time direct hire position.POSITION OVERVIEWAs a Sr. EHS Specialist, your roles and responsibilities will include: 1. Act as a compliance resource for OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring all practices align with company policies and commitments to safety.2. Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, collaborating with the plant operations team to establish corrective and preventive actions.3. Conduct risk assessments and inspections to identify employee hazards and implement mitigation strategies.4. Drive continuous improvement in safety monitoring and recordkeeping systems, ensuring compliance with federal and company policies.5. Facilitate safety and environmental training for all personnel, while coordinating safety activities and reporting progress to management.6. Manage waste disposal practices effectively, including hazardous and universal waste, and support environmental initiatives to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with permits. QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal Sr. EHS Specialist would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
  • Bachelors degree in Safety and Health, Environmental or equivalent degree.
  • Prior Safety Specific Training (OSHA 30 Hour, Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, etc.)
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in a safety and/or environmental role in an industrial setting. Comfortable working in a plant environment.
  • Must meet one or more of the following criteria:
    • Has served as the EHS Leader of the site for a minimum of three years.
    • Is recognized by the Company as a Subject Matter Expert in a specific EHS discipline (e.g. Fall Protection, Machine Safeguarding, Process Safety, etc.), and is called upon to share his/her expertise with other locations within the Company.
    • Professional Certifications in Safety, Environmental or Occupational Health (e.g. CSP, CIH, OHST, SMS, CEM, CHMM, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of federal safety and environmental laws (e.g. OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Ability to work with respective outside agencies and contracted employees.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Ability to use a variety of software applications to analyze, monitor data, create reports, and presentations.
