Role Summary The Smart Factory, Service & Fleet Technology organization supports that mission by ensuring our products are always ready for that adventure through intelligent software systems which enable the continuous development, manufacturability and sustainability of our products throughout their lifecycle. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Factory Systems Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team to lead and manage large-scale factory Systems implementations. As a Factory Systems Integration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing MES projects, guiding cross-functional teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of solutions that align with business objectives, as well as analyzing, evaluating, and improving our manufacturing systems and processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for system enhancements, optimize efficiency, and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in manufacturing systems, business analysis, advanced manufacturing technologies, and IT/OT architectures, and possess exceptional problem-solving skills, with a focus on the automotive or similar industries. This role is based in our manfucaturing facility in Normal, IL and reports directly to our Sr. Staff Tech Lead, Factorty Integration. This role will need to grow to support multiple sites with the growth of the business. Responsibilities Lead Factory Systems projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful implementation, integration, and standardization across multiple facilities. Lead the shop by shop integration and handover of the MES system for all new production lines and shops for Rivian products in Normal and future factories. Act as a primary consultant, offering strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team. Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather and analyze factory systems requirements, delivering solutions that meet both business and operational needs. Analyze manufacturing processes, systems, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Utilize expertise in automotive and MES systems, such as Dassault Apriso, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens Opscenter or similar to drive project success and troubleshoot challenges. Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including system requirements, process maps, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaborate with Rivian Engineering teams to design, configure, and implement changes to manufacturing systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption. Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and adherence to requirements. Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they understand and can effectively utilize manufacturing systems. Monitor system performance, collect, and analyze data to identify and address issues, and propose solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in manufacturing systems and recommend innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with vendors and external partners to evaluate, select, and implement new manufacturing systems or upgrades. Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience working as an Integration Engineer, Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. (MES consulting, with hands-on experience in MES deployments and integrations in manufacturing environments, is preferred). Hands-on experience with MES solutions such as Dassault Apriso, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens Opscenter, Critical mfg. etc. Strong understanding of IT/OT architecture, including MES, SCADA, network, hardware, and software architectures, manufacturing systems, processes, and workflows. Expertise in implementing solutions in line with ISA-95 standards, including PLM, ERP, and MES systems, shop floor (PLCs/Equipment) connectivity etc. Knowledge about orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker/Container, and Go language is a plus. Familiarity with database concepts, SQL, and data warehouse/analysis tools like Snowflake/Databricks, etc. Proficient in system analysis, process mapping, and requirements gathering. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and drive change. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
