Job Description
Will perform art design and development for consumable manufacturing in its entirety under the guidance of the Mfg. Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
Interact with Customers, Omnicell's Sales, Customer service and Production to understand artwork requirements, layouts and design
Design and create artwork for Cards, Labels, and other similar products that meet customer requirements and match manufacturing capability. This would involve, but not be limited to:
Pre-flight artwork files before job is sent to Open Rip to ensure proper format, color seps, traps, bleeds etc., before the plates are produced
Create proofs and make other artwork changes as needed using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for Cards, Labels, and other similar products.
Make finished Flexo graphic plates for use in Manufacturing
Print output, and proofread artwork before it is sent to customer service rep, production administration, etc.
Organizing artwork files electronically so they can be easily retrieved
Order all supplies for department including plate material, chemicals, paper, etc.
Work with vendors in order to research new equipment and products for dept. Confer with vendors to find solutions to equipment problems, and solutions to jobs which are difficult to output or plate.
Maintain and troubleshoot prepress equipment including plate makers and developer to maintain high quality output.
Write procedures, as needed, to detail the specific instructions to produce quality product.
Interface with Production, Production Administration, Quality, and Maintenance departments on quality, scheduling, process and production issues.
Create and maintain jackets that hold plates, proofs, etc. for production use.
Recreating graphic elements not in usable formats in order to use in final design
Correct and redesign any elements that will not reproduce correctly on press
Required Knowledge and Skills
Graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in an engineering, graphic design or related field; or
A minimum ten (10) years of experience, working in a related field.
Basic Qualifications
Operate Microsoft Office skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint) for report generation, general communications, and appropriate presentations.
Knowledge Adobe Creative Suite for creating artwork design.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge Adobe Creative Suite for creating artwork design.
Knowledge of Open RIP used to step, distort, repeat, RIP etc, files.
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat; Adobe Distiller.
Flexo platemakers, color books, densitometers.
Work Conditions
Work is performed in both and office and manufacturing environment.
Stand, walk; lift greater than or equal to 20lbs.
Sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
