  • Upholds all ethical standards associated with human resources, safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Responsible for reporting all safety, quality and food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Assures that safety, quality and productivity are given priority, in that order, to achieve positive results.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to hourly compensation, benefits, and leaves; disciplinary matters; employee relations; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from hourly and salary employees which may include complex and/or sensitive matters. Maintains a high level of confidentiality with all matters.
  • Administers internal and external job postings and support the Talent Acquisition Team with Affirmative Action Plan data.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with Department Managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Coordinates and ensures completion of pre-employment activities and verifications.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Attends and participates in employee meetings, including investigations, disciplinary, and terminations.
  • Maintains HR systems (i.e. ADP, Kronos, Alchemy) and accurate record keeping such as personnel files, attendance records, etc
  • Assists with all aspects of employee benefits administration at the plant level.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Complete various reporting requirements.
  • Assist with cultural improvement initiatives, wellness activities, and community engagement opportunities
  • Provide administrative support, prepare correspondence, luncheons, order supplies/gifts, etc.
  • Takes initiative on supporting tasks and takes calculated risks and learns from resulting successes and mistakes.
  • Performs responsibilities to expected outcomes.
  • Follows through on commitments in a complete and timely manner.
  • Participates actively in the management of the business through team involvement.
  • Identifies and participates in learning activities that promote personal and professional growth.
  • Experiments with new processes and ideas to create innovation and continuous quality improvement.

  • Supports labor relation activities.
  • Serve as the backup in the absence of the HR Manager or Training Coordinator.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business Administration or other related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Computer literate with a strong knowledge of software such as Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Word, Adobe Professional, Access and the ability to perform internet research.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment that supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exemplify professional behavior in all aspects of the position and has the ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills, active listening, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • General knowledge of the company's quality and food safety systems, as well as contractual requirements.
  • Highly organized and self-directed with an ability to prioritize projects, combined with the ability to provide and receive direction.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an aptitude to quickly absorb new procedures and new industry advancements and problem-solve.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Flexibility to change hours.
