Job Description:
The Human Resources Senior Business Advisor serves as a strategic partner to department leadership, delivering expert guidance on a spectrum of HR matters. They draw on their deep understanding of the firm's goals to align HR initiatives with the strategic objectives, thereby cultivating a culture of high performance and consistent development. The Senior Business Advisor plays a collaborative role in supporting organizational change and driving talent management strategies, addressing complex employee relations issues, and ensuring HR compliance with all legal standards. This role is critical in proactively anticipating the business's future needs and championing the firm's core values and mission.Responsibilities• Serve as a strategic partner to the department leaders, providing insights and recommendations on HR issues to advance the firm's strategic goals.• Support talent management and organizational alignment efforts, including restructures, mergers, and acquisitions within client groups• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to implement workforce plans for individual client groups, contributing to the firm's overall talent strategy• Partner with Organizational Development team to promote activities that support the development of high- performance teams• Partner with HR Senior Manager to develop and actualize strategies aimed at enhancing team member engagement and retention• Serve as primary HR contact for client groups, providing timely and effective solutions to team members concerns• Offer guidance on HR policies, ensuring clarity in interpretation and application• Manage complex employee relation issues, advising leaders on conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, while ensuring legal compliance• Implement initiatives that bolster team member morale and encourage a culture of acknowledgement and appreciation• Collaborate with business leaders and internal committee members to further drive the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy• Build and maintain confidential and trusting relationships with all RKL team members, from team members to executives• Employ HR metrics and data analytics, in conjunction with the Systems, Data, and Analytics team, to inform business decisions and gauge the success of HR initiatives• Facilitates instructor-led workshops on occasion and provide onsite support as needed for client group needs and team member engagement initiatives Other duties as assigned• Other duties as assignedPeople Management/Relationships• Takes initiative to be a team player (seeks out opportunities to help others)• Treats everyone with respect• Develops loyalty and trust with team• Successfully adapts to different personalities and working styles• Proactively and effectively communicates information regarding status issues to team members• Holds self-accountable for assigned work; seeks continuous feedback to learn and develop in role; is open to new ideas and suggestionsBusiness GrowthPossesses an understanding of RKL's business (service lines, competitors) and client service capabilitiesRequired Knowledge, Skill and/or Ability• Ability to develop and align HR strategies with business objectives• Strong understanding of employment law and HR processes including absence management, compliance, federal and state laws/regulations and benefits administration• Deep understanding of the business environment and industry trends• Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform HR strategies• Strong skills to advise and influence senior management on HR-related matters• Experienced in guiding and managing organizational change with minimal disruption• Exceptional in building and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the firm• Expert in handling complex employee relations issues and mitigating workplace conflict• Ability to lead HR projects and initiatives from conception through to implementation autonomously, demonstrating strong project management skills• High ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to effectively interface with all levels of firm management and team; ability to communicate issues and conclusions• Proficient in HR technologies and systems, able to leverage these tools to improve HR functionsEducation, Experience and Certifications• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred; SHRM-CP/PHR certifications preferred• 7-10 years' progressive experience with several years in a strategic HR role• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and other HR/LMS software products• Experience with project management platformsEssential Functions and Physical Requirements• Regularly required to perform manual tasks, concentrate, think, learn, communicate, sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, grasp, handle or feel objects, reach with arms, talk and hear• Must be able to remain in a stationary position as needed• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and on site at client locations, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer• Ability to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external actors as needed• Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds• Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as needed• Ability to travel to local and non-local clients and events as needed, overnight travel may be required• This job description is subject to change at any time and employee will be given additional responsibilities as assigned.
