Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Leads the design, development and implementation of multi-modal training programs to meet workforce education needs. Collaborates with and guides faculty and subject matter experts to learn, become proficient in, and apply instructional technology. Applies knowledge of adult learning theories, multiple learning styles, and instructional design principles to maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of training programs. May mentor other designers and provide guidance and support in project tasks.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Creates and implements strategies to develop, support, enhance, and maintain the online delivery of education. Develops processes and procedures for support of the LMS. Partners with faculty and subject matter experts to understand needs and identify knowledge gaps. Writes and edits materials. Partners with faculty, staff, and IT support teams to develop and implement technology-related solutions and associated training videos and documents. Translates instructional design into solutions. Represents the needs of faculty and other key stakeholders on integrating technology in classroom and other supported spaces. Participates in strategic planning.

* Provides end-user support by troubleshooting advanced and complex user inquiries on the learning management system, media software and other software systems used in course management. Partners with other teams to troubleshoot issues associated with the tools used within the LMS. Researches and makes recommendations for software upgrades or advancements.

* Supports, advocates for, and expands online course development, use of the LMS, content management system, and online learning software. Instructs users on the operation of online and mobile learning technologies, including but not limited to, learning management software, multimedia applications and communication tools through online learning modules, workshops or consultation. Correlates pedagogical best practices with available tools and informs instructors of options. Explores, promotes, pilots and supports new technologies for instruction.

* Find, adapt, design, implement, and maintain interactive multimedia learning objects and assessments. Note - Multimedia learning objects are resources that combine text, images, and other media, usually digital and web-based, that can be used and re-used to support learning. Ensuring the use of instructional design best practices and adherence to quality standards.

* Collaborates with subject matter experts to define instructional, learning or performance objectives. Presents recommendations regarding course design, technology and delivery strategy.

* Designs learning products, including web-based aides or electronic performance support tools, and instructional aides for instructor-led classroom or online use. Applies advanced design skills and experience to complex, media-rich development projects. Interviews subject matter experts or conducts other research to develop instructional content.

* Develops instructional materials for technology-based redesign of courses, handouts or examinations. Develops instruction or training roadmaps for online and blended learning programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in related field required.

* 4 years of relevant experience required.

* or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $63,815 - $95,723 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
