Sr Java Developer 6 month contract w/extension Downtown Chicago or Naperville, IL - onsite 3 days per week Project Overview: We are seeking a senior Java Developer responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying software on cloud-based applications. Contractors Role: You should be comfortable with back-end coding languages, development frameworks, and third-party libraries with an emphasis on JAVA, Spring Boot and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF experience not required). Contractor will be a key member of a cross functional team following Agile development methodologies. Preferred Qualifications: • 8+ years of experience in application development experience using Java, Cloud. • Experience of working on Cloud based - Java applications • Prior experience of modernizing legacy applications to a strategic cloud-based micro service application • Experience in development of Java J2EE applications • Application integration using API, REST and SOAP web services • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture and cloud-based services • Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines • Understanding of OAuth 2.0, Ping Federate, ZScaler • Database/Stored Procedure experience preferably with DB2, Oracle >= 11g versions • Knowledge of code version control tools - Github • Desired experience with Spring, Web services, APIs such as JDBC, Hibernate, Eclipse IDE • Experience in messaging gateways - Kafka, Solace, MQ • Cloud Computing concepts and deployment: AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Microsoft Azure • Experience working in onsite/offshore model • Experience with production code migrations • Experience working in Agile methodologies • Experience working with production support and business teams Required Skills : - Senior role: 8+ years of experience in application development experience using Java preferred - Comfortable working with Spring Boot framework - Manager is looking for someone who can work independently, deliver high levels of code - Any cloud experience is fine (AWS, Azure, or PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) - Prior experience of modernizing legacy applications to a strategic cloud-based micro service application- 3 open positions - We have manager contact and less competition than usual - Manager is looking to build out this team so strong opportunity for long term extension Background Check :Yes Notes : Selling points for candidate :- 3 open positions - We have manager contact and less competition than usual - Manager is looking to build out this team so strong opportunity for long term extension Project Verification Info : The information provided below is for Apex Systems AV use only and is not to be distributed publicly, or to any third party.
