Job Description:

As a Linux Systems Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain Linux servers, ensuring they operate at optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems and associated software, including web servers, databases, and application servers. Analyzing system performance metrics and implementing tuning solutions to improve efficiency and reliability will be a key part of your role. You will develop and maintain scripts for automating system tasks, leveraging tools such as Bash, Python, or Ansible, to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention. In addition, you will implement monitoring solutions and respond to system alerts, diagnosing and resolving issues promptly to maintain high system availability. Applying security best practices, including system hardening, patch management, and access controls, will be essential to safeguard sensitive data. You will work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to support software deployments and ensure seamless integration with Linux systems. Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures will be crucial for operational transparency and continuity. Collaboration with the DevOps team will be vital to streamline workflows, enhance CI/CD pipelines, and ensure system reliability. You will manage and optimize AWS environments, ensuring best practices in security, performance, and cost management are followed. Providing support and troubleshooting for Linux systems, while demonstrating versatility in navigating a Microsoft Windows environment, will be part of your daily tasks. Lastly, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions that meet organizational needs. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of experience in Linux system administration Strong proficiency in Ansible for automation and orchestration Extensive experience with AWS services and architecture Familiarity with Windows environments and the ability to work effectively within them Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across departments Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system management Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Nice to Have Skills & Experience Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Nagios) Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Red Hat Certified Engineer) Knowledge of software products such as Microsoft Office & VMWare products Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
