Purpose:
The Senior Manager Commercial Strategy exists as the strategic hub for the externally facing commercial teams. The incumbent institutes strategic business plans that integrate, align, and achieve retailer and L'Oreal goals. The Senior Manager Commercial strategy works to produce guiding 4P principles that the external Commercial Team will be held accountable to. These will be updated and adapted by the SMCS as the market place evolves and the brands needs change. The SMCS also serves as a liaison between all internal cross-functional partners to provide interpretation and direction on their respective strategies to the account teams.
They will also be the internal teams singular point of contact for Commercial Team information. The SMCS will act as the internal voice for the Commercial teams needs and work cross functionally with other teams to ensure successful outcomes. The Senior Manager Customer Strategy leads the business planning process and works with the commercial team to ensure the plan reflects the strategic goals of the business unit. The SMCS is also accountable to ensuring the Commercial team is implementing the plan approved by internal business leaders and supporting any gaps to that plan.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Creates, owns, and adapts the 4P Retail Strategy for the brand. Ensures all is available accurately and on time to the commercial teams.
- Consolidates Commercial teams promotion and distribution plans to act as the one voice of external sales with the internal team.
- Works closely as a business partner with the external commercial team to achieve business objectives and execute the financial plan.
- Works closely as a business partner with Marketing team to provide customer feedback and ensure brand plans are actionable with Commercial teams.
- Balances short and long-term planning to gain support for developing strategies with supporting tactical steps that will achieve long-range outcomes; ensures alignment with sales leadership, customer selling teams, marketing, and finance, any all other appropriate partners
- Ensures customer segmentation is current, based on marketplace trends and mergers
- Partners with account teams to design customer-specific planning processes and establishes planning input and associated deliverables with an actionable timeline
- Develops and maintains a high-performance culture within the team through clarification and monitoring of priorities, goals, and accountabilities.
- Represents sales needs, timelines to the various internal teams. Ensure the Sales POV is heard and represented in internal facing meetings.
Job Scope:

- Data Analysis: Effectively collates data and reviews for key insights and observations, is able to spot errors through critical thinking.

Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree
- 5+ Years of CPG or equivalent experience; sales experience a plus
- Strong knowledge and experience in IRI / Nielsen systems (experience with syndicated data a plus)
- Candidate should possess analytical experience, with a CPG background preferred

- Salary Range: 117,400- 160,000 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
