This role encompasses everything associated with fan blade or fan case manufacturing processes, including, but not limited to, surface prep, prepreg layup, adhesive bonding, abradable application, vacuum bagging and autoclave cure. Acting as a mentor to our Engineering Team, you will utilize your years of experience to support and improve the manufacturing process by identifying improvements, facilitating in the redesign of workstations, reducing costs, and training other Engineers. This position will include project management, equipment selection, hands-on manufacturing support, process development, strong communication and extensive documentation.**Complementary Description**- Develop a very thorough understanding of the part manufacturing process- Create and update procedures and work instructions while taking into consideration operator feedback, equipment, process data, and customer requirements- Mentor other Engineers on best practices, workstation design, cost reduction, and process improvement initiatives- Monitor and update SPC database for current production parts to better to detect and prevent process drifts- Work side by side with production to improve the process and successfully train operators- Participate in MRB review of discrepant parts including root cause and corrective actions- Work with data team to develop efficient and useful reporting tools- Summarize, prepare and deliver technical presentations to engineering and management- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation; coordinate and implement solutions- Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of part manufacturing processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality standards.- Generate manufacturing data reports to support immediate feedback to the operators and generation of Quality documentation- Work closely with Quality and Product Engineering departments to efficiently communicate nonconforming production data- Support the implementation of Lean principles- Create visual management standards to communicate performanceInteract with French counterparts**Job Requirements**Job Specifications1. Bachelor's degree in Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant technical degree2. 10+ years of relevant engineering experience preferred.3. Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and tooling preferred4. Majority of time to be spent on the production floor working with equipment, processes and manufacturing personnel5. Understanding of Engineering Drawings6. Self-starter with the ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently with limited direction7. Requires a strict attention to detail and strong project management skills8. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills9. Experience with automation of manufacturing processes is preferred10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and a passion for sharing knowledge and teaching others.11. Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the current master data environment (including systems, policies, processes, and procedures)12. Understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts and/or 6 Sigma techniques preferred13. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint14. Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards15. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player when required16. Ability to travel within the US and internationally (not to exceed 10%).Working Conditions1. Lighting and temperature are adequate.2. Employee regularly required to sit, stand, and walk3.
