Job Description:
Symetra is seeking a Sr. Market Intelligence & Data Analyst to join our Stop Loss Product team!About the roleIn this role, you will continuously research, analyze, and summarize the competitive landscape of the employer stop loss market, including Symetra's products. You will also provide insights on competitive trends and future scenarios to Sales and internal partners.What you will do
  • Work in partnership with Product, Actuarial, Sales, Marketing, IT, and Business Analysts to collect data from research providers, customers, agents/advisors, distributors, and wholesalers.
  • Build and maintain internal tools to share competitive intelligence (e.g., product rates & features, sales strategies, market position, commissions) and trends.
  • Consolidate, and present data to senior management.
  • Synthesize a wide range of inputs from which short, intermediate, and long-term trends can be analyzed and strategic and tactical questions answered.
  • Provide analytical and design support to internal teams to improve product feasibility, development, sales, and marketing.
  • Identify areas of opportunity for strategic decision-making based on comparing the competitive intelligence market landscape and our internal product and service offerings.
  • Partner with Actuarial to analyze financial data and build financial and risk models to support product management, product development, and positioning.
  • Provide competitive information and Symetra product positioning to internal Sales personnel on specific inquiries related to potential markets or competitors.
  • Serve on cross-functional project teams and work with other internal departments on initiatives that leverage product information.

CompensationSalary Range: $75,300 - 125,600 plus eligibility for annual bonus program Your experience and skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience with stop loss products required.
  • Solid understanding of stop loss insurance products and markets required.
  • 2 years analytical experience required.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and adept Excel skills.
  • Consistent record of delivering actionable insights and driving critical initiatives.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills internally across the organization and within the stop loss industry.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of translating sophisticated topics into clear, actionable insights.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
