Expected salary range of $114,300 to $127,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k). PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION This position will be onsite at the Crane Clean Energy Center in Middletown, Pennsylvania. The Sr. Network Engineer will possess the experience and skills to support and maintain in an advanced role within the Constellation IT organization by providing operational technical insights to stakeholders, regarding secure, networking solutions being deployed within the business and enterprise network environments. Must possess ability to monitor, maintain and optimize critical networking initiatives and projects, within these secure environments. The Sr. Network Engineer will be expected to provide technical expertise to support the secure delivery and maintenance of network solutions supporting Constellation and its portfolio of business services. Must have the ability to evaluate network/telecom services and make recommendations for supporting and improving infrastructure service, application and data workloads within various hosting models (on premise and cloud). Demonstrate essential skills for basic monitoring, configuration and troubleshooting of current network services and related security controls, to primarily support site-based connectivity and regulated environments. This role will work in collaboration with other IT teams, leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams, in all aspects of the secure & reliable network services serving as transport for services/applications throughout Constellation's large and complex operational environments. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support projects, planning, maintenance, and operations. Consults and advises with leadership, project teams, application/service support teams and end users to optimize availability and performance analysis for potential changes related to the secure enterprise or regulated network environments. Provide technical expertise and guidance for maintaining performance and reliability of key IT solutions.
- Work closely with leadership and the team to develop future improvement plans, resource requirements, migrations strategies, and project schedules to improve service delivery and efficiency. Understand other technologies and service offerings and their impact to the delivery of secure enterprise or real-time network environments.
- Establish evaluation, testing, lab, and mockup solutions as needed. Serve as a senior resource and mentor in assigned daily support and deployments to operations and ensure solutions meet business requirements and operational metrics (SLA's). Responsible for operating and maintaining complex solutions at the component level, including hands-on configuration, leading troubleshooting efforts and optimization of metrics for the secure network environments.
- Provide feedback and guidance to leadership and peers to risks identified during business impact analysis, site risk assessments and disaster recovery planning.
- Continuous improvement with technical knowledge, training, industry trends and business acumen within all IT disciplines or functions.
- Support company initiatives to enable Behind the Meter and Hydrogen Reclaim including providing input on infrastructure, technical solutions, and required monitoring to ensure their success.
- Operate within a regulated environment meeting requirements of the NRC and adherence to our NERC CIP program, plus maintaining necessary qualifications and access. Including support of the Constellation Regulated Network (firewalls, load balancers, authentication) in addition to the NDN (Named Data Networking) architecture.
- Involvement with the IoT network and familiarity with sensors and monitoring technologies like Wi-Fi, and LoRaWAN infrastructure to bridge enterprise and business networks (gateways and configuration).
- Ability to operate in an industrial environment and to deploy and support network infrastructure in a nuclear and power plant environments that could involve dressing out to support emergent needs in containment and other sensitive areas.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree (ex: Computer Science or related field) and 5 - 8 years' experience (ex: Network/Telecom Administration, Network Planning, Disaster/Recovery, etc) or 9 - 12 years of comparable professional job experience.
- Demonstrated expert proficiency in at least two engineering domains such as route/switch, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls and security protocols.
- Excellent communications skills - Able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written and verbal).
- Understanding of change management processes associated with technology implementations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Understanding of project management principles.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, based on business needs, including supporting multiple locations.
- Works under minimal supervision.
- 24/7 on-call rotational duties.
- Ability to travel domestically.
- Onsite support will at times be required to support operational needs. In general, 1 to 2 days onsite is typical for a given work week.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant work experience in Energy, Industrial and/or Regulated Sector
- Cisco CCNP level or above preferred.
- Certification in area of expertise.
- Tools experience: TACACS, Cisco ISE, Cisco Meraki, Network Node Manager Interface (NNMi), Thousand Eyes, Packet Capture and Analysis, ServiceNow
