Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Sr. Quality Engineer position that just opened in Greensboro, NC. In this role you'll be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into finished products. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience. You must also be a US Citizen. Location: Greensboro, NC Position: Senior Quality Engineer Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent Pay: $41.99/hour Telecommute: Onsite Overview: Designing, implementing and maintaining quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into finished products, the Senior Quality Engineer will have the opportunity to help our nation's heroes make a true impact. You'll be the owner of the quality function in one or more production shops and design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products. Duties and Tasks:
- Designs, implements, and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
- Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products
- Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
- Reviews Documents/Drawings/Instructions for conformance to requirements
- Provides resolution to problems of moderate scope
- Compares defects against standards and recommends dispositions, and verifies implementation of rework
- Collects, organizes and analyzes project data, generates and/or reviews metrics
- Performs audits, assigns corrective action, and verifies implementation
- Participates in project reviews and meetings including technical design reviews, technical peer reviews
- Verifies compliance to defined requirements
- Witnesses and or monitors test activities
- Receives instructions from immediate supervisor
- Contact with multiple work groups
- Works under general supervision
- Interfaces with various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, program management, and other quality personnel
- Some contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering,
- Manufacturing, and Quality departments
- Works as an individual technical contributor on one or multiple projects
- Participates as an active member of the project team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Solid knowledge of engineering (i.e., software, electrical, systems, etc.) methodologies, tools and standards
- Solid knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, ISO 14001ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Solid written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to think creatively
- Ability to multi-task
- Solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
- Solid ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices
- Solid knowledge of interpretation of drawings
- Solid skills in reviewing documents/drawings/instructions for conformance to requirements techniques
- Solid skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Solid knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques
- Solid computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools
