The Sr. Quality Improvement Specialist (QIS) will serve as part of a multidisciplinary team working to improve the quality of health care for Medicaid beneficiaries enrolled in managed care plans (MCPs). The Sr. QIS will conduct virtual and onsite assessments of primary care practices, maternity care practices, and hospitals; review clinical and population health activities associated with best practices in health care delivery, equity, and patient engagement; advise on quality improvement strategies in both the organization of clinical quality and office efficiency; analyze findings; and write reports. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with practical experience in patient care, public health, quality improvement and assessment of quality improvement initiatives, as well as writing for diverse audiences. This is a client-facing role and successful candidates must possess strong communication skills.The ideal candidate would be based in IPRO's Ohio or New York (Lake Success) office. Up to 20 days of travel per year expected.This position is office based with the potential for hybrid work.Duties include but are not limited to:* Assess the quality of care in outpatient and inpatient health care settings during virtual and in-person review meetings with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.* Understand and synthesize complex healthcare policies.* Manage multiple timelines and deadlines simultaneously.* Write reports summarizing the findings of quality-of-care assessments.* Conduct presentations to clinicians, administrators, and other office/clinic staff.* Contribute to the development and testing of quality assessment tools for use in various health care settings.QUALIFICATIONS* Knowledge of the principles of primary care and quality improvement.* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with clinicians, other health professionals and internal staff.* Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.* Computer proficiency with a developed knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and an aptitude for acquiring working knowledge of specific software applications such as those found in ambulatory EHRs or other sites that provide health care services. Knowledge of one or more existing ambulatory EHR software packages is a plus.* The ability to work well independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.* The ability to travel to practice sites as required.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE* Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, public health, or a related field, required.* Master's degree in public health, quality improvement science, health informatics, or related field preferred.* Licensed RN, LPN, or MSW, preferred OR extensive quality improvement experience, required.* Two (2) years of relevant experience working in a health care organization or healthcare-focused community-based organization, required.* Proven record of communicating effectively with multidisciplinary audiences.* Previous work experience managing timelines and producing written reports.The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $88,000.00-$115,000.00.
