Description: Sr. Quality Inspector
Job Purpose: Responsible to maintain Quality standards by reviewing incoming materials, in-process production, finished product, auditing process compliance, calibration and recording / reporting quality results
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Utilizing standard and advanced measurement equipment/tools, and managing quality records and documentation
- Strong mechanical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI Y14.5)
- Verify correct layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components
- Verify proper crimps; wire stripping, wire installation and PWB assembly
- Verify Engineering requirements for mechanical and electrical components, drawings and specifications
- Verify plated and painted areas for uniformity
- Follow Engineering and Inspection documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps were performed according to specifications and PO requirements
- Performs sampling, inspections, documentation review, data entry and record keeping as required, prepares required documents for shipment of product
- Assist management in conducting and documenting formal procedures, inquiries and investigations to determine the cause of quality or problems and recommend verbal and/or written corrective action to management
- Coordinate or perform calibration of all equipment and fixtures
- Assist or conduct first article inspections
- Any other tasks as assigned by Management
- Interacts effectively with coworkers and management in order to resolve problems
Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- 1-5 years quality assurance, quality control or related industry manufacturing experienced required
- Must be proficient at Basic Math (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division)
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or TS16949 standards
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, read and interpret Engineering drawings, schematics and specifications
- Prior inspection experience and experience with IPC 610 and J-STD-001 and IPC-620 highly desired
- Organizational skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and Basic (working) knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Highly detail oriented
- Basic (working) knowledge of Basic Computer Usage (File Creation, Saving and Printing)
- Ability to work effectively in an office, laboratory, warehouse, and packaging and manufacturing environment
- Use of measuring tools, calipers, misc, etc
- Basic knowledge of GD&T desired
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pound units during inspection
