If that's you, please don't hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself. Description The Sr. Research Analyst-Planning will work cross-functionally with all PSE issue areas. This role will support and guide the translation of data and research into information that will equip PSE staff, organizational partners, communities, and advocates in the advancement of racial equity goals and objectives.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupport internal teams with research, analytics and policy expertise
- Assist issue-focused portfolios in research and policy review tasks to meet grant obligations. This includes, but is not limited to survey support, policy and environmental scans, background research, and data analysis
- Work closely with the Just Solutions team to support development of work scope, identify deliverables, and provide data analytics, conduct research, and provide policy support to meet project specifications
- Support a collaborative effort across multiple organizations exploring the best and highest research equity practices, which will inform PSE's approach to equitable data, research, and storytelling
- Lead the gathering, analysis, and interpretation of data related to our programs and investment impact, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Conduct literature reviews and research relevant to specific evaluations and organizational priorities
Contribute to the development of Research & Analytics as a leading resource in the region for novel strategies for the equitable collection, curation, and analysis of data, research, and policy
- Contribute to the design of research projects including the development of conceptual and analytical frameworks for examining justice-related issues, evaluating programs and policies, and understanding the policy context.
- Write reports, policy briefs, and other publications to disseminate findings from research projects.
- Oversee the development and implementation of outreach and dissemination strategies, including webinars.
- Work with Research & Analytics Director to convene data equity peers to develop an Equity Data Roundtable/workshop
- Stay current with pertinent literature, developments, and data visualizations around issues of demographic change, inequality, mobility, and equitable growth.
- Assist the team in revamping equitable data and research methodologies that disrupt traditional DEI research practices
- Identify opportunities to connect data and research to community-led efforts, systemic issues, and advocacy
- Use mixed methods for data collection and analysis that include quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Manage tasks and deadlines for multiple research projects (small and large), which includes working collaboratively with staff at all levels and troubleshooting potential issues.

Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in urban planning, economics, public policy, or related social science (e.g., political science, sociology).
- 3 years of related experience and/or training in data analysis or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to write accurate and comprehensive reports
- Experience with data management and analysis using statistical software
- Experience with mapping and reporting platforms
- Experience developing databases, management processes, and learning frameworks that are easy-to- learn and easy-to-pass-on
- Project management experience
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Familiarity with the social justice landscape in metro Atlanta and/or the Southeast
- Fundamental understanding of race, structural racism and racial equity
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized and follow through without supervision
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Dedication to social equity, particularly racial equity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree from an accredited university in urban planning, economics, public policy, or related social science (e.g., political science, sociology).
- 5+ years of related experience
- Experience considering the material impacts of racial inequity on Black communities, other communities of color, and low-wealth communities in technical analysis
- Experience developing effective and equitable surveys and interview and focus group guides
- Experience with geospatial mapping software (e.g. ArcGIS)
- Familiarity with the urban planning landscape in metro Atlanta and/or the Southeast (both historically and in terms of current key local and regional leaders and decision-makers)
- Experience with innovative techniques for program and impact evaluation
