- Assist in the design and implementation of frameworks that positively impact safety culture
- Research and strategize emerging and complex risks
- Identify and communicate contractor's culture, key personnel and processes to team members
- Manage change regarding Midland Division safety initiatives
- Inform and review Midland Division safety programs with operational leadership planted within your team
- Proactively recognize trends and brainstorm/develop solutions
- Perform monthly field observations
- Identify, schedule and facilitate incident reviews for operations
- Collaborate across the business to share best practices and lessons learned
- Deliver quality education in safety meetings
- Advocate all components of EOG's WARS and Locks & Keys program daily
- Engage and educate personnel onsite using EOG's Locks & Keys program
- Serve as a voice to drive a proactive safety culture within the Midland Division
- Report physician involved/CIP events, concerns and questions to division safety manager
- Schedule and facilitate quarterly leadership roundtables
- Maintain knowledge and expected filings dealing with state and federal regulations, EOG Resources Safe Practices Manual and contractor policies and procedures in regards to disciplines contained within team
- NM Workers' Compensation Administration inspections
- Annual LOTO audit
- Fire extinguisher inspections
- Compliance based annual training
- IH testing
- MEQ and fit testing
- Annual crane inspections
- Chemical inventory and SDS files
- Respiratory equipment maintenance
- Emergency response equipment inspections and maintenance
- Maintain direct relationships with operations for the opportunity of open communication and providing safety knowledge
- Educate others on the hierarchy of controls, verify usage with incident investigations and provide feedback on ways to improve investigation tactics
- Research PPE and safety related equipment needs and maintain inventory
- Assist team members with the management of EOG and contractor incidents utilizing Best Care Practices
- Review incident reporting periodically for accurate and correct information
- Verify emergency response planning, inspections and education for operations within team
- Continually evolve the methods to gather, compute and distribute safety related data.
JOB REQUIREMENTS5+ years' experience in Safety & Environmental, with oil and gas industry experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Safety, Environmental or related field preferred; high school diploma or GED required. Strong technical knowledge. Broad knowledge of safety and environmental laws and regulations. Must be computer literate with excellent communications and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively with others at all levels. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to exercise sound judgment. Good driving record required. Position will be filled a level commensurate with experience.
