Job Title:Sr Spec, Systems EngrgJob Code:18374Job Location : Rochester, NYJob Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday offJob Description:The successful candidate will represent L3Harris' latest generation tactical radio based communication systems to our customers as well as accurately relay technical and business information to Product Engineering, Product Management and Sales teams.Business requirements include strong communications and interpersonal skills coupled with a basic appreciation and interest in the financial and competitive goals of L3Harris Communications Systems. Technical requirements include broad knowledge of networking including application of the principles and techniques of, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematical analysis, radio/wireless domain expertise with a basic understanding of communications protocol architectures and applications.Engineer will perform hardware and software system integration of wired and wireless network systems.The candidate will need to work collaboratively across the engineering organization, partnering closely with Business Development and Sales teams, Engineering Project teams and Engineering Subject Matter Experts as well as with other Communications Systems sectors to focus on the development of unique and novel solutions.Essential Functions:The applicant will be expected to perform system integration and evaluation in support of Sales, Engineering and Product Management in the field:Liaison between our Customers and L3HarrisCommunicates pertinent information to/from Customer with Sales, Engineering, Product Management & Program Management.Strong customer consultant providing guidance and training to customer personnel in system design, mission development, operation, application integration, configuration and troubleshooting techniques.Working closely with the Network Engineering team in Rochester to apply IP networking knowledge to incorporate radios into larger enterprise systems (LAN, WAN).Ability to troubleshoot networking issues at all layers, including basic understanding of tools used to analyze network connectivity and traffic flow.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with network systems, abilities to work with hardware and software designers to bring up new features, understanding and proven track record of resolving hardware/software integration issues.Must be resourceful and willing to be deployed for multiple weeks at a time in the field.Travel – 35% or more.Must possess or be eligible to obtain a US Secret Security ClearanceQualifications:Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.US Government Secret security clearance or ability to obtain.Preferred Additional Skills:BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering discipline.Proven track record as an effective technical resource in face-to-face customer interactions, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and user satisfaction.'Prior Military or worked in a military environment, demonstrating a deep understanding of military protocols and the ability to navigate complex defense-related environments.Experience with both Linux and Windows OS, displaying a strong understanding of command-line interface.Technical proficiency with wideband networking technologies, including but not limited to ANW2C, Wren-TSM, and Wraith, with a capacity to adapt to new and evolving communication systems.Enjoys working with people, developing relationships and sharing knowledge.Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a passion for fostering educational exchanges and building professional relationships, complemented by the resilience to excel in high-pressure and rapidly changing scenarios.CCNA Certification or above highly desiredIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $89,000 - $165,000.. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
