Are you ready to help us make the future?JOB SUMMARYThe Sr. Advanced Structural Engineer provides technical leadership for structural analyses and design decisions for an exciting new business jet turbofan engine. The individual will own some aspects of the structural design for an engine module by conducting and guiding the analysis, development, and testing for static structural components. The engineer must have experience performing complex structural analysis as the primary function of their job during a significant portion of their career, including finite element analysis, classic mechanics handbook calculations, fracture mechanics, fatigue, thermal effects, creep, buckling, bolted joints, clearances, and modal and forced vibration. Experience with gas turbine engines is necessary for foundational product design knowledge and technical leadership.
The internal job title for this Structures position is Sr. Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer.KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Ensure the integrity of the static structure components and systems
- Effectively assist or lead the coordinated work of structural analysis teams locally, globally, and 3rdparty outsource
- Communicate effectively with manufacturing personnel, suppliers, customers, chief engineers, and leadership
- Review all static structures analyses to ensure adherence to requirements and design criteria, guidelines, and practices
- Ensure analysis results are presented clearly and effectively in design reviews and documented in reports to meet program deliverables and requirements
- Guide effective test planning, execution, and validation
- Perform analyses of key components
- Mentor less-experienced engineers
- Contribute or lead process improvement teams to advance technology and to improve engineering process

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
WE VALUE
- Master'sdegree in an engineering discipline
- Gasturbine engines experience
- Advancedunderstanding and application of solid mechanics, dynamics, fatigue, andfinite element analysis
- Provenaptitude in performing complex analyses using FEA software and classichand calculations for structural engine components and systems
- Advancedproficiency with ANSYS Workbench and / or APDL
- Skilledin mechanical component & systems testing and validation, includingcreating test plans, engaging in real-time test support, post processing,and evaluating test data
- Professionalexperience CAD modeling mechanical components (2D/3D) to enhance analysisefficiency. Preferred software experience is Siemens NX.
- Topologicaloptimization of static structural components for minimum weight
- Experiencewith DOORS for requirements management
- Compositematerial analysis experience is a plus
- Excellentcommunication skills (written and oral) to interact with engineeringteams, other disciplines, and the customer.
- Knowledgeof Six Sigma tools and application.
- Contributionto process improvement to advance technology and to improve efficiency.
