Sr StatisticianRequisition IDreq31806Working TitleSr StatisticianPosition Grade13Position SummaryThe UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences,Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking a self-motivatedindividual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH isto address health care disparities through: health services research andevaluation; capacity building; training and workforce development; and throughincreasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic,cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities.CBH is seeking a Sr. Statistician to perform data analyses,descriptive statistics, and statistical modeling on numerous, concurrentDivision projects and research. This position will routinely provideconsultation and guidance to principal investigators and stakeholders regardingstudy design and analyses. The qualified candidate should have in-depthknowledge of and demonstrated experience with: behavioral health or humanservices-related research and statistics; quantitative and qualitative researchand analyses; database and survey creation tools; data analysis software, suchas SPSS, R, and SAS; Smartsheet and Excel; syntax and data coding; dealingwith large data sets and missing data; descriptive statistics, bivariate andmultivariate analyses; development of research questions; development of dataanalysis plans; and various types of data reporting and manuscript preparation,including narrative reporting, for academic and non-academic dissemination. Thedesired candidate is responsible, reliable and self-motivated; flexible andgoal-oriented with demonstrated follow-through. Excellent administrative,organizational and communication skills, as well as research ethics, are amust.Duties of this position include: supporting the Division'sStatistics Team; supporting numerous faculty, staff and project partners withrespect to their data-related needs; assisting with study implementationdesigns and statistical analyses plans and grant writing; program evaluation;evaluation research design; database creation, data collection and qualityassurance; statistical reporting and more. This position will work on numerousprojects and reports as the need arises. This position will workcollaboratively with a diverse, multidisciplinary team serving a wide varietyof stakeholders. This is a term, full time, benefits eligible position. This isnot a remote position, but may work remotely at times.See the Position Description for additional information.Conditions of EmploymentMinimum QualificationsMaster's degree;at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a statistics related field
  • Proficient in data analysis software, such as SPSS, SAS,R, Python, Tableau, Smartsheet, and Excel
  • In-depth understanding of quantitative and qualitativeanalyses
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical modeling
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical reporting,including narrative reports and manuscript preparation, for academic andnon-academic dissemination
  • Familiarity with REDCAP, Qualtrics, and other datacollection tools
