This position leads the strategy; design, implementation, and support for the organizations compute environment (primarily Windows and virtualization) and enterprise storage platform. This position will work with cross functional teams during projects to set up virtualization, storage, and Windows infrastructure for use by applications, including supporting application development, application go-lives, and application reporting. Establish and implement the operational standards for virtualization, Windows, and storage monitoring and controls to ensure the integrity, reliability, security, and performance of applications. Ensure enterprise applications on the Windows platform have appropriate data backup, recovery, high-availability and planning, testing disaster recovery scenarios.
Responsibilities:(35%)* Works within the IT management team to develop short and long term strategic and operational plans for the virtualization, Windows, and storage platforms and supporting tools.
(35%)* Work collaborative with other system administrators, network administrators, DBAs and application support personnel to support business applications and strategic initiatives.
(30%)* Establishes, refines, and implements the standards and procedures for installing, securing, designing, tuning, monitoring, and managing our Windows platform. This is to ensure adequate resources are available and properly configured to deliver optimal performance, availability, reliability, and integrity. Works closely with DBAs, vendors, and technical staff to configure, monitor, and manage.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, install, administer and maintain SAN and storage array hardware and software. Continually monitor capacity and performance and make recommendations for improvements
Plan, install, administer and maintain enterprise backup systems. Monitor throughput, content, integrity and execution to ensure data is properly protected and recoverable to meet the needs of the organization. Document and communicate backup/restore and recovery procedures as required to support the needs of other systems and applications.
Design, implement and administer the virtual environment to assure maximum availability and performance.
Working with system administrators and vendors, analyze, recommend, plan and provision appropriate types and amount of storage to meet the needs of systems, users and applications. Analyze, recommend and assist in implementation of new hardware and system software.
Participate in projects during planning, design, build, and implementation phases to ensure Windows and other system admin tasks can be appropriately allocated to meet requirements and follow standards.
Ensures that the system high availability options are properly configured, well documented, tested and successfully executed to maximize system availability. Ensure system backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes are adequately documented and tested as part of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning.
Adheres to Change Management standards.
Participates in call / coverage rotation to provide 24 x 7 support.

Certifications and Licensures:Must have or be willing to obtain an Epic ECSA certification
Required Education:Associate's degree is requiredBachelor's Degree or equivalent education in a healthcare-related, information technology, or business field, or a minimum of an Associate's Degree in same areas with five years related experience. SAN and storage architecture design, support and management experience in an enterprise is strongly preferred.
Other Information:EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Five (5) or more years of experience with system operations, network or server administration or technical support in an Windows Enterprise environment is required.
Leadership, project management, use of methodology, time management and organizational skills to direct Windows Server tasks across the project team and Storage across the organization.
Interpersonal and presentation skills needed to communicate successfully both orally and in writing with individuals / groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Strong analytic and problem solving skills required to resolve complex issues. Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
Tuberculosis (TB) testing must be done as required.
Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.

Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
