Job Description:
Purpose of this Job: • This job is responsible for developing products in compliance with Sanden and customer requirements. • This role will include HVAC / system component (HVAC / HX / ITMS) development, design, testing, and reporting with engineering theory/logic. • This role will also include training for other engineers and staff. • Other responsibilities include technical support for projects related to manufacturing. Principle Duties/Essential Functions: • Execute product development by achieving technical goals. • Achieve technical goals and tasks with PDCA for product development. • Develop engineering solutions for suppliers and cross-functional members to meet required needs. • Develop engineering laboratory testing methods and equipment. • Coach/mentor engineers and other staff based on expertise. • Achieve departmental execution plans and goals for product development. • Ability to develop new concept design products. • Develop engineering solutions for customers, suppliers, and cross-functional members to meet required needs. • Achieve design consensus by resolving technical issues globally. • Coach/mentor engineers and other staff for Design Engineering growth based on expertise. Other Tasks/Responsibilities: • Work with other Sanden locations to ensure product designs are consistent. • Provide technical support to internal customers. • Conduct a technical feasibility study for new product configuration. • Support / participate in project team(s) as engineering expart. • Other projects as assigned by management. • Establish engineering reports independently. • Establish technical presentation material for internal and external customers as needed. Will work closely with customers on product specifications. • Responsible for awareness and compliance with company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Contributing to the effectiveness of the EHS policies and procedures by communicating and reporting unsafe conditions and/or non-compliance. Competencies: • Critical thinking • Technical knowledge • Active Learning • Organization skills • Complex problem-solving skills. • Innovative thinking • Communication skills Requirements RequirementsEducation:• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (BSME preferred) Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • 5+ years experience in automotive application design with a preference toward HVAC / system component (HVAC/HX/ITMS) development, Vehicle, and HVAC / HVAC System Testing Knowledge/Skills, and HVAC/ITMS system knowledge.
  • FEA / CFD analysis knowledge
  • Working knowledge of electric vehicle thermal management systems.
  • Working knowledge of current computer technology and applications such as CAD, CAE, and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with internal and external customers. Must be comfortable with working directly with Clients.
  • Knowledgeable of IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 procedures.
  • Hands-on with vehicle and test equipment.
Licenses or Certifications:• EPA-608, EPA-609 are desired Physical Demands:
  • Routine lifting of 25 lb. loads (HVAC) may be necessary
  • Possible exposure to high noise levels
  • Possible exposure to chemicals (oils, refrigerants, solvents).
  • Exposure to environmental temperatures of 30 - 110 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and be able to prioritize workloads
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):• PPE may be required based on specific projects Work Environment/Hours:• Primary work area is in an office setting as well as a lab environment. • Must work normal office hours plus provide support on evenings and weekends (as needed) Primary Work Location:• Wylie, TX Travel Requirements:• 0 - 10% domestic and 0 - 5% international to countries such as but not limited to Japan, Mexico
