Sr. Tester - Department of Veteran AffairsSummary When a user tries newsoftware, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successfulsoftware development - and that means rigorous testing. Thats why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly testsoftware and work with developers to make sure our team releases the bestsoftware possible. As a test engineer on our team, youll use your experience to work with testers, developers, engineers,etc. to evaluatesoftware developed for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Youll build a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automated and manual processes, youll generate data and execute the test cases to see how thesoftware performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. Youll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor health as part of an established DevOps Pipeline. This is an opportunity to supercharge your skills by writing the code to test the code using opensource tools like Selenium WebDriver and Postman. Youll also broaden your experience in working with our client on a large scale system while sharing your testing experience with your immediate team.This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.You Have:3+ years of experience with functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, or system integration testing, supporting user acceptance testing2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies2+ years of experience with test automation tools, open source, and COTS test automation frameworks, including Selenium or JMeterExperience with supporting applications deployed in a Mobile environmentKnowledge of scripting languages, including JavaScript, Java, Python, PHP, Ruby, or Bash.Knowledge of DevOps and automation frameworks, including Je nkinsAbility to obtain a security clearanceBachelors degreeNice If You Have:Ability to work effectively independently and on diverse teamsAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environmentPossession of excellent verbal and written communication skillsPossession of excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skillsBachelors degree in CS or Computer Engineering preferredVetting:Applicants selected may be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.
