Job DetailsJob LocationSunrise Canyon Behavioral Health Complex1950 Aspen Ave - Lubbock, TXPosition TypeFull-timeEducation LevelHigh School graduation or GEDSalary Range$15.00 HourlyTravel PercentageNegligibleJob ShiftNight ShiftJob CategoryHealth CareDescriptionStarCare Specialty Health System seeks to hire an organized, self-starter to fill the role of Unit Clerk at Sunrise Canyon Hospital - a 30 bed inpatient psychiatric unit.Unit Clerk Responsibilities:Computer typing and data entry.Setting up and breaking down inpatient unit charts.Retrieving and returning medical records.Generating daily census data and completing patient assignment sheets for admissions and discharges.Providing non-direct care assistance to patients (e.g., assigning phone codes and getting beverages).Obtaining patient valuables from the safe upon discharge from the hospital.Assisting with obtaining information regarding financial eligibility. Collaborating with financial screeners to review financials for accuracy and coordinating information with the Billing Department as needed. Conducting ORYX surveys and compiling data.Providing general clerical support including copying, faxing, answering phones, filing, and other related support duties. Must be able to perform efficiently in a fast-paced/hectic environment, with frequent interruptions and distractions.Schedule: This is a full-time/non-exempt position scheduled for the Night Shift: Monday - Friday, 4 pm - Midnight, with flexibility to meet the needs of the department. Prefer experience in a hospital setting. Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, etc.) and personal computer with Microsoft computer software is required.
