Duties:Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Establish and maintain accurate and updated program files for assigned grants. Read and/or review notice of award, agreement, or contract to know financial requirements of assigned grants. Ensure programs are set up in accounting software; including financial statement format if needed. Effectively communicate with program managers about program needs and/or requirements. Review monthly, financial statements for assigned grants, and share with program managers. Review and enter budgets for assigned grants. Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting as required by funders for assigned grants. Responsible for drawdowns and invoicing of assigned grants. Vouchers and Invoices - review and sign off for assigned grants. Weekly check runs; including direct deposits and monthly credit card payments. Record and/or setup accounts receivables, cash disbursements, and journal entries as needed. Assist accounting assistant with duties when needed. Assist with audits and tax filings - including backup paperwork and research. Walk-in questions from all staff, accounting or payroll related, including necessary research. Performs other duties as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and process Central Service Billings. Payroll - Reviewing and approving. Monthly, balance and/or reconcile liability accounts for benefits. Engages in networking activities to ensure awareness of services available. Attend all training and meetings as scheduled. Seeks and attends additional training, conferences, or seminars as need to stay current on job related subject matters.
Qualifications:Qualifications: An equivalent combination of experience and education that would provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered. Required: Associate degree in Accounting or Business and two - five years of experience working in a computerized accounting office. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business. Prior experience within mid to large size organization and/or non-profit agencies. Must be bondable. Experience with a Native American Tribal organization. Individual must possess: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor and appearance; problem solving skills; ability to manage time effectively; self-motivation skills; work effectively under pressure; ability to build positive work relationships with internal and external customers; ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people. Individual must be able to follow routine instructions and apply logic in the solving of various computer related issues. Must be able to perform basic, intermediate, and advanced math functions. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be an effective and cooperative team player.
