Job Overview - Staff Accountant: We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to play a vital role in our client's company's accounting operations and financial well-being. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, account reconciliation, maintain the general ledger, and contribute to the monthly financial close process. This is a remarkable opportunity to leverage your keen attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and accounting expertise to support our client's finance team. Compensation: $95,000.00 - $150,000.00 + bonus Location: New York City Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant include:
- Prepare detailed journal entries for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets
- Perform meticulous reconciliation of bank statements and credit card statements
- Analyze revenue and expense accounts for any anomalies
- Compile schedules and documentation for external audits
- Review purchase orders for proper approval and coding
- Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP
- Ensure accurate recording of inventory counts
- Assist in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Drive process improvements through automation and system integration
- Conduct variance analysis on budgets versus actuals
- Handle ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as required
Qualifications of the Staff Accountant include:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Intermediate skills in Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
