Job Title: Staff Accountant Department: Accounting / Finance Reports to: Accounting Manager FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt BACKGROUND First & Goal Inc. (FGI) operates in the entertainment and sporting event industry and is the operator of Lumen Field Stadium & Event Center. Home to the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and MLS' Seattle Sounders FC, the stadium also hosts numerous concerts and international soccer events. Holding a capacity of 72,000, Lumen Field has quickly earned the reputation for being one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. SUMMARY This position will provide support to the accounting team by preparing a variety of journal entries and account reconciliations, providing analytic review of financial statement accounts, assisting with finance projects as they occur. Other duties include, but are not limited to, managing the event settlement process and analyzing event data and monthly variance analysis. Successful candidates will also possess an accounting background, excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills and an understanding of basic accounting concepts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Participate in month-end close processes such as preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations. This includes effective self-review of work performed, researching discrepancies and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Assist in the development of internal financial statements and monthly reporting package
  • Ensure event revenues and expenses are tracked and recorded in accordance with contract terms and make appropriate expense accruals monthly in accordance with accounting principles
  • Source explanations for notable budget to actual variances based on comparable events, historic actuals, new rates, runtime, etc.
  • Preparation and coordination of financial event settlement for professional sports and music events
  • Develop and report on labor budgets and corresponding staffing plans based on planned attendance and other event variables
  • Prepare annual internal and external audit support and deliverables
  • Maintain accurate capital asset accounting records for acquisitions and disposals, tracking and logging of capital assets and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies to optimize asset utilization and lifecycle management
  • Aggregate and organize invoice, purchase order and payment support for capital project reimbursements for the Washington State Public Stadium Authority
  • Provide team support for ad hoc projects as needed such as flash reporting, dashboards for management and event analysis

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university. Degree in Accounting is preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • The salary range for this position is: $65,000 - $80,000. The salary range applies to the current posting. The posted salary range may vary based on key factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related knowledge, experience and skill set.
