We are in search of a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role you would be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day accounting responsibilities to support the operational and executive teams. - Process accounts payable including:
- Coding invoices correctly to ensure proper entry in financial records
- Matching corresponding income invoices with all supporting documentation
- Obtains appropriate approvals for credit card payments
- Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing invoices
- Prepare regular reports and summaries of accounting activities as required
- Participate in asset inventories (ie: year-end and cycle counts)
- Maintain record retention in compliance with record retention requirement of relevant government agencies
- Accounts Receivable functions including preparing invoices and monthly reporting
- Preparation and posting of various entries including payrolls, accruals and reclassifications
- Coordination of accounting matters with related companies
- Adhere to all Colwen/brand standards
- Compliance with Federal & State Labor laws
- Order staff supplies/inventory as needed
- Assist with general accounting and ad-hoc duties when needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Associate's degree in accounting and/or certificate program with equivalent experience
- Proficient working knowledge of MS Office programs, emphasis on Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop
- Team player with great interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently
- Ability to communicate at different levels within the organization
- Strong multi-tasking abilities, handle multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Attention to detail
- Possess the highest level of integrity and confidentiality
