Job Description:
We are in search of a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role you would be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day accounting responsibilities to support the operational and executive teams. Colwen Hotels is a hospitality group built on hard work, character, and authenticity. With our continued growth and project pipeline, we are able to provide our associates with exciting career advancement growth and opportunities.Responsibilities may include:
  • Process accounts payable including:
    • Coding invoices correctly to ensure proper entry in financial records
    • Matching corresponding income invoices with all supporting documentation
    • Obtains appropriate approvals for credit card payments
    • Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing invoices
  • Prepare regular reports and summaries of accounting activities as required
  • Participate in asset inventories (ie: year-end and cycle counts)
  • Maintain record retention in compliance with record retention requirement of relevant government agencies
  • Accounts Receivable functions including preparing invoices and monthly reporting
  • Preparation and posting of various entries including payrolls, accruals and reclassifications
  • Coordination of accounting matters with related companies
  • Adhere to all Colwen/brand standards
  • Compliance with Federal & State Labor laws
  • Order staff supplies/inventory as needed
  • Assist with general accounting and ad-hoc duties when needed
Requirements
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Associate's degree in accounting and/or certificate program with equivalent experience
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Office programs, emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop
  • Team player with great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently
  • Ability to communicate at different levels within the organization
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities, handle multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess the highest level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
