DescriptionWe are inviting applications for the role of a Staff Accountant within our Construction/Contractor industry establishment located in NWI. This role involves handling various accounting tasks, including processing customer applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action.Responsibilities:- Manage and process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency- Maintain and update customer credit records, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date- Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally, providing excellent customer service- Monitor customer accounts regularly, identifying any irregularities or issues- Take appropriate actions on customer accounts when needed, such as initiating collections or adjustments- Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded- Maintain the General Ledger and prepare Journal Entries as needed- Assist in the monthly end close process by preparing and analyzing financial statements- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management- Conduct job costing activities, ensuring all costs are accurately allocated and recorded.Requirements - Applicant must possess knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP)- Familiarity with handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is a requisite- Proficiency in executing Bank Reconciliations is mandatory- Experience in managing General Ledger is a must- The candidate must have the ability to make accurate Journal Entries- Proficiency in executing Month End Close activities is required- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field- Prior experience in the construction or contractor industry will be advantageous- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential- The candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is required- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task- Knowledge of state and federal financial regulations is a plus.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
