Our goal is to provide affordable home financing for our customers, utilizing the best terms available while providing a level of professionalism and service unsurpassed in the lending industry.Position SummaryThe Staff Accountant plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company's Accounting functions. The role is primarily responsible, under general supervision, for performing all branch accounting processes and P & L tasks assigned; as well as, assisting with calculating monthly incentive compensation and bonus payments for assigned regions.Essential Functions
Process recurring and one-time monthly close tasks such as journal entries, adjustments, reporting, account reconciliations and other basic accounting tasks for branches and corporate departments. Analyze variances for monthly P&L's for branches at assigned regions. Research and respond to branch managers' inquiries for assigned regions. Train branch managers and other branch employees on the Loan Vision Branch Portal. Prepare Monthly Regional Override and Bonus Memos. Review Monthly Branch Manager and Sales Manager Override Bonus Memos. Assist with all aspects of compensation as it relates to assigned regions for branch/district/regional managers, including: calculation, research, interpreting contracts, communication, accounting, and reconciliation. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance, along with at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience required; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred. Thorough understanding of accounting including but not limited to: prepaid, accruals, income statement accounts, balance sheet accounts, intercompany accounts, consolidation, reconciliations and general ledger. Preferred experience includes mortgage industry experience, sales compensation experience, Loan Vision software, advanced MS Excel including pivot tables and V-Lookups. Ability to read and interpret compensation contracts. Possess attention to detail; as well as, a quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management. Time management, organization, analytical and multi-tasking skills required, with the ability to handle tight deadlines. Excellent research and problem-solving skills and ability to propose solutions to problems. High level of integrity and ethical behavior.Supervision Travel: 0%Requirements Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting. Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse. Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation.
