The Hinckley Company, known for building and servicing beautiful seaworthy yachts, has a Staff Accountant opening for our Hinckley Yacht Services division. As part of the Finance team, this role will report to and support the Controller providing financial oversight, support, and analysis for the seven service yards. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, excel in a fast-paced environment, be focused on business process improvements and operate in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and report weekly Service Yard financial metrics related to labor and material
  • Balance sheet reconciliation as part of the month-end review process
  • Participate in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, monthly GL/sub-ledger balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare monthly analytics
  • Internal and Intercompany Service Request Orders (SRO's) maintenance and account reconciliation
  • Performs other related duties as necessary
  • Analyze financial data including variance analysis to budget and forecast
  • Work with Controller on miscellaneous financials projects
  • Assist with year-end audit
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years accounting experience
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills along with advanced Excel and Power Point skills
  • Experience with Syteline ERP a plus or similar ERP systems
  • Must be well organized and able to work both independently and as part of the team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with employees at all levels of an organization
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving techniques
