Job Description

The Staff Accountant will be based out of our newly opened Holland, MI plant. There will be a required training period of at least two months at our Huntington, WV facility, with travel and lodging paid.

This is an opportunity to learn alongside a team committed to providing learning, development, and hands-on work experience.

As a Staff Accountant, you will participate in the accounting and financial reporting cycle of a private equity-owned company. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring certain expenses are properly recorded (Accounts Payable), as well as helping with product receipts, manufacturing costing, payroll functions, and month-end general ledger closing procedures. You will also assist the Controller with the preparation of annual budgets and other special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of Accounts Payable transactions.
  • Assist with product receipts and manufacturing costing processes.
  • Support payroll processing and compliance.
  • Perform month-end general ledger closing activities.
  • Collaborate on annual budget preparation and special projects with the Controller.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new software packages and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
