This is an Entry Level position, so those who have recently completed their Master's and Board of Certification exam are encouraged to apply. This position is a full-time, 12-month appointment, with adequate time-off given during summer/off months. Our Sports Medicine Staff is searching for an individual who will be fully invested in the health and success of our student-athletes. This position will work closely with our Sports Medicine Staff, including our Team Physician and Strength and Conditioning Coach, as well as our coaching staff and our administration. Examples of Duties Basic responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing care and coverage to the following sport assignments: Assisting Football, Wrestling, Track and Field (though assignments are subject to change based on experience).
- Evaluating injuries in order to design and execute appropriate rehabilitation exercises.
- Establishing a working relationship and open communication with coaching staffs, student-athletes, physicians, co-workers, parents, etc.
- Plan and administer emergency care as needed.
- Additional responsibilities could include other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
- Position is expected to assist in supervision and administration of the athletic training facilities operations and activities; assist in the record-keeping of all athletic injuries and rehabilitation progress; and assist in the scheduling of medical appointments for our athletes.
- The Athletic Trainer must have a commitment to compliance with all institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy
- Cover home and away contests.
Typical Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a sports related discipline accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE);
- Certification (BOC) for Athletic Training.
- 0-2 years of experience post certification.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to function in a service- and team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in Athletic Training.
- Experience using Vivature - Online Healthcare Database.
