Berwick Academy, a PK-12 day school in South Berwick, Maine, seeks a full-time Building and Grounds member to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in building upkeep and ground care, with physical endurance to cover a large campus. A valid driver's license and passing a state-mandated background check are required. Attention to detail and diligence are crucial for this maintenance position.Building and Grounds employees ensure the facility remains operational. Daily tasks vary and can include repairs, aesthetic work, or machinery maintenance, overseen by the Head of Maintenance or Director of Facilities. Responsibilities include preparing academic and administrative spaces, performing routine maintenance like structural repairs, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC maintenance. Safety hazard management, painting, basic carpentry, and grounds maintenance are also key tasks. Operating industrial cleaning equipment, maintaining tools, assisting with facility setups, and lifting heavy items are part of the role. Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, and late nights may be required.Securing facilities after hours, enforcing school policies, and supporting Berwick Academy's guidelines are essential.
