The work we do matters!Hiring Agency:Veterans Affairs - Agency 28Location:Norfolk, NEHiring Rate:$20.142Job Posting:JR2024-#######4 Staff Care Technician II/Transportation Aide (Open)Applications No Longer Accepted On (If no date is displayed, job is posted as open until closed):Job Description:Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with every other weekend rotation.Provide medical appointment transportation services locally, surrounding areas, including Omaha. Escorts members to medical appointments. Assists with transfers of members in and out of State vehicles. Assists members with ADL's during appointments and provides privacy in all cars. Transport paperwork and maintains confidentiality of member information. Communicates with nursing staff , other departments, outside facility staff and others as needed. Operates vehicle lift per facility policies and procedures. Serves as an advocate for the member. Represents NDVA in a positive manner.Provide quality care for each member to maintain quality of life. Maintain dignity and confidentiality of members. Perform routine nursing duties in the general care of elderly members in the Veterans Home. Prepare, administer and document oral and topical medications and treatments. Schedule member appointments via phone or electronically. Communication with VA and medical provider offices. Conduct member inventory including maintaining VA issued member equipment such has hearing aides, classes, etc.Requirements/ QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age, completed a state approved 76 hour nurse aide training course and competency evaluation program, and be listed on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.Other: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. A pre-employment background check and drug screen are also required. Hired candidates must successfully complete the Medication Aide course and be listed on the Medication Aide registry within first year of employment.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and push/pull occasionally up to 75 lbs. on a daily basis. Ability to frequently bend at the waist and neck and frequently twist at the waist and walk or stand up to 90% of the shift.
