A well-established Engineering company that designs and builds customized, state of the art compressors, pumps, and generators for the DOD and other industries is seeking a staff Engineer, someone who understands pumps and compressors and how they operate.Design and/or specify mechanical components, castings, piping systems, electrical control systems and programs (PLC), pressure containing and structural components. Direct designers and /or drafters in the creation and revision of CAD models and drawings as necessary for support of engineering functions. Check drawings for completeness and accuracy and approve for use.Perform calculations to verify compliance with flow, pressure, temperature and strength requirements.Select compressor components to meet functional requirements based on internal or customer-defined specifications.Perform root cause failure analysis and correction on malfunctioning compressors. Work with Field Service and customers to troubleshoot and correct compressor problems.National and international travel as required to visit customers, vendors, and attend seminars and training events.An Engineering degree or equivalent experience is required. The position is located in the north east San Francisco Bay area. Pay $80 - $90k, excellent benefits, 401k.
